$10 million for clinical cancer research

Mains en mouvement et éprouvettes

Important new funding has reinforced the excellence of immunology and oncology research at the CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal.
On June 4, the Quebec Cancer Consortium for Novel Therapeutics and Biomarkers, which includes Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, received $10 million from the Fonds d'accélération des collaborations en santé of the Ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation du Québec.

This grant is on top of the $17 million in contributions from private, public, and not-for-profit partners. The total investment of $27.9 million will be used to double the recruitment of patients for clinical oncology trials and develop infrastructure to support discoveries in personalized medicine and immunotherapy in Quebec.

Several researchers at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont helped launch this major province-wide initiative to fight cancer, such as Denis Claude Roy, Lambert Busque, Jean-Sébastien Delisle, Josée Hébert and Christopher E. Rudd, in addition to our clinical research teams in hematology and oncology.
