Journée annuelle de la recherche en ophtalmologie

On October 1, several researchers and students participated in the 33rd annual ophthalmology research day at the Centre de recherché de l’Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. This day devoted to ophthalmology research brings together scientists, clinicians and students from the CR-HMR and the Center universitaire en ophtalmologie (CUO), both affiliated with the Université de Montréal.

Congratulations to the two students who stood out during the day:

Best oral presentation

The prize for the best oral presentation among graduate students was awarded to Nicolas Desjardins Lecavalier from the laboratory of Dr. Santiago Costantino Ph. D. of CR-HMR

Title of the presentation: "The ability of a cell to migrate may be hereditary and predict metastatic potential"

Best Poster Presentation

  • The prize for the best poster presentation was awarded to Clément Playout, supervised by doctors Renaud Duval (CUO) and Farida Cheriet (Polytechnique Montréal)
  • Title of the presentation: "Integration of semantic markers for an automated and interpretable detection of diabetic retinopathy"

 

Leadership in the field of ophthalmology

Vision health is one of the three areas of research at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Center. It is also the only center affiliated with the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé to have positioned ophthalmology as one of its research axes.
