Dr. Karine Bilodeau Ph.D., researcher at the Centre de recherche de l’Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, received the Dr. Trang Hoang Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), Quebec Region, presented to the Health Professional 2021. This award given to Dr. Bilodeau highlights her significant contribution to blood cancer research. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada wanted to highlight the quality of its research projects involving members of the SLLC, its close work with people affected by hematological cancers and the active involvement of members of their community in of his research projects.
The research projects of Dr. Bilodeau, who is also an assistant professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal, and her team aim to develop and implement solutions that promote the optimization of care and health to cancer survivors from the perspective of returning to and maintaining an active social life. Their work focuses, among other things, on the experiential learning of patients and health professionals, interprofessional interventions to support cancer survivorship and the process of returning to work after cancer.

The Dr. Trang Hoang Award is given to the healthcare professional of the year who has distinguished himself in an exemplary manner and whose contribution promotes research on blood cancers, the advancement of care for patients and families affected by hematological cancer or in the fields of public awareness, service or fundraising. The entire team at the Centre de recherche de l’Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont congratulates Dr. Bilodeau on obtaining this recognition.
