Dr. Lachance was the Medical and Administrative Director of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Program at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) from 2008 to 2020. A clinical researcher in hematology, transplantation and cell therapy, she developed and launched the transplantation and cell therapy fellowship program at Université de Montréal in 2008 and led the project to have the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recognize hematopoietic cell transplantation as a hematology subspecialty. She is a full professor of medicine at Université de Montréal, and her communication skills make her a popular teacher and guest speaker. Since 2016, she has directed the university program in adult hematology at Université de Montréal.
Research Unit
Dr. Lachance’s interests include not only hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cell therapy but also the improvement and management of post-transplant complications; the pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD); the understanding of the graft-versus-tumour effect; and treatments for hematologic malignancies.
