Docteur Vincent Pichette dirige l'unité de recherche de néphropharmacologie. Néphrologue à l’hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, Dr Pichette est également très actif en recherche clinique et est professeur titulaire aux Départements de médecine et de pharmacologie de l'Université de Montréal.
Le Dr Vincent Pichette est un néphrologue et pharmacologue clinicien expérimenté, qui s'intéresse depuis longtemps à l'impact de l'insuffisance rénale sur la disposition et la réponse d'un médicament. Il est une référence dans l'utilisation de modèles expérimentaux de maladie rénale et dans l'utilisation de ces modèles pour évaluer l'effet de la maladie rénale et de l'urémie sur l'expression fonctionnelle des enzymes du cytochrome P450 et des transporteurs de médicaments. Le laboratoire Pichette a publié des articles phares sur le terrain démontrant que l’urémie conduit à une expression différentielle des CYP et des transporteurs dans le foie et l’intestin.
